Miami United officially launches its U23 team as part of the Multi-Divisional Project

Miami, FL - Miami United FC continues to expand its long-term vision for player development with the official launch of the club’s new Under 23 Team, a major step forward within the organization’s ambitious “Multi-Divisional Project.”

The initiative represents another important milestone in Miami United’s commitment to building a complete and structured pathway for players of all ages, creating a bridge between youth development, high-level competition, college opportunities, and professional football.

The newly formed U23 team will serve as a critical platform for talented players between the academy and the First Team, offering competitive matches, advanced training environments, and direct exposure to coaches, scouts, and professional opportunities both domestically and internationally.

SPL Silver Division participation approved by the board

The Miami United board has officially decided that the new U23 team will compete in the Soccer Premier League Silver Division (SPL Silver) as part of the club’s long-term developmental structure.

The objective behind this strategic decision is to create a clear and competitive pathway for players to progress through the Miami United system:

Miami United Academy → U18 Team → U23 Team → Miami United Reserve Team → Miami United First Team

The club believes this structure will allow young players to develop gradually in a professional and competitive environment while earning opportunities to move up within the organization based on merit, performance, and commitment.

The project reinforces Miami United’s philosophy of creating real opportunities for ambitious players who aspire to compete at higher levels of the game.

Building a complete pathway

The Multi-Divisional Project has been designed to create a true pyramid structure within the club, including:

  • Miami United Academy

  • U18 Team

  • U23 Team

  • Reserve Team

  • First Team

This structure allows Miami United to provide continuity, stability, and long-term development opportunities for players pursuing collegiate, semi-professional, and professional careers.

The U23 program will specifically focus on:

  • Advanced player development

  • Competitive match exposure

  • Physical and tactical preparation

  • Transition into senior football

  • Showcase opportunities for colleges and professional clubs

Miami United U23 is officially set to make its debut in the Soccer Premier League Silver Division:

Open tryouts every Friday

Miami United is officially hosting weekly tryouts for players interested in joining the Reserve and U23 team and becoming part of the club’s long-term development structure.

Several current First Team and Reserve Team players began their journey through the U23 environment before earning opportunities at higher levels within the organization, including Juan Wagner, Nicolas Prada, Gianluca Calabrese, and many others who progressed through the Miami United pathway.
